What is fundal height?
Fundal height is the distance in centimetres from the **pubic bone** to the **top of the uterus**, measured with a tape while you are lying on your back.
What is the “week in cm ± 2 cm” rule?
It is a rough rule of thumb that from about **20–36 weeks**, fundal height in cm often sits within about **2 cm** of the gestational week number (for example 30 weeks → about 28–32 cm). Real practice uses trends, not just one point.
Which weeks does this calculator support?
The tool supports **weeks 20–42**, matching the usual range where fundal height is tracked routinely.
What does “Within typical range” mean here?
It means your measurement falls between the approximate **10th and 90th percentiles** for that week in this model. It does not by itself guarantee that growth is normal.
What if my result is “Below typical” or “Above typical”?
It only says your number sits below the model 10th percentile or above the 90th. Your care team will look at repeated measurements, ultrasound and other factors before deciding if there is a real concern.
Does this replace ultrasound or my provider’s chart?
