Baby gender predictor by due date or conception date

For fun: what the Chinese gender chart, the Mayan method and heart rate myths say by due date, conception date or last period, next to the real odds.

Can I use my due date or conception date?

Yes. Choose "Due date" or "Conception" to start from either, or start from your last period. The folklore methods and the dates are worked out from whichever you pick.

Can any calculator predict my baby's sex?

No. Dates, ages and heartbeats don't change the odds. Only a medical scan or test can tell, where the law allows it.

What are the real odds of a boy or a girl?

About 105 boys are born for every 100 girls, so a boy about 51 times in 100 and a girl about 49 times in 100.

How does the Chinese gender chart work, and is it accurate?

It looks up the mother's lunar age and the lunar month of conception in a chart. The charts in circulation disagree, and in nearly 2 million Swedish births the method was right about half the time.

What is the Mayan gender prediction?

It compares the mother's age at conception with the year of conception: both even or both odd means a girl, one of each a boy. No study supports it.

Does a fast heartbeat mean a girl?

No. Studies found no difference between boys' and girls' heart rates in early pregnancy.

When can a scan show the baby's sex?

Often at the mid-pregnancy scan, usually at 18 to 20 weeks, if the baby's position allows and the law where you live permits it.

Why isn't the baby's sex shared in some countries?

In some countries, including India, China and Vietnam, telling parents the baby's sex is against the law, to protect against sex selection. The tool shows a notice there.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything is worked out in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
