IVF due date: how it is worked out from your transfer day
Work out your IVF due date from your embryo transfer day. Add 261 days after a day-5 transfer, 263 after a day-3, 260 after a day-6, with examples.
How is an IVF due date calculated?
Add 266 days to the embryo transfer day and take away the embryo's age in days. That is 261 days after a day-5 transfer, 263 after a day-3 and 260 after a day-6.
Is the IVF due date different for a frozen transfer?
No. The sum is the same for a fresh or a frozen transfer: it uses the transfer day and the embryo's age at transfer.
Does a scan change an IVF due date?
After IVF, the transfer date sets the due date and a later scan doesn't change it. Ask your midwife or doctor about your own dates.
