What is this post-due date odds tool for?
It is for people around **39–42 weeks** who want a rough idea of the **chance of labour in the next few days** and by 41 or 42 weeks, based on a simple model.
Why does it ask if this is my first baby?
In the model, **later babies** have slightly **higher daily chances** of labour at the same week than first babies, so parity changes the percentages.
Why do odds increase as the weeks go up?
The daily chance is set **higher at later weeks**, so the chance of going into labour in the next 1, 3 or 7 days grows as you move from 39 towards 42 weeks.
Can I use this to decide whether to accept induction?
No. Induction decisions must be based on **your actual risk factors and provider advice**, not on this model. This tool is for expectations and planning only.
What does “By 41 weeks” and “By 42 weeks” actually mean?
“By 41 weeks” is the modelled chance of going into labour **between now and 41+0**. “By 42 weeks” is the chance between now and **42+0**. They are cumulative percentages, not per-day chances.
Does this use my contractions, scans or medical records?
No. It uses only your **current gestational week** and **first vs later baby**. It does not read or send any medical record data.
