妊娠の時期ごとに赤ちゃんの心臓がふつうどのくらいの速さで打つか、110〜160 bpmの基線の意味、家庭用ドップラーでは赤ちゃんが元気かわからない理由。

What heart rate is typical for a baby?

From mid-pregnancy, a baseline between 110 and 160 beats per minute. In the early weeks it's faster, peaking at about 170 bpm around 9 to 10 weeks.

Why is my baby's heart rate so fast in the first trimester?

The heart speeds up quickly in the first weeks and peaks around 9 to 10 weeks, at about 170 bpm. It then slowly settles as its nerves mature.

Can heart rate predict boy or girl?

No. Studies found no difference between boys' and girls' heart rates.

Is it safe to use a home Doppler?

It isn't advised. It can pick up your own pulse or the placenta, and hearing a heartbeat can give false reassurance and delay the check your baby needs. Get to know your baby's movements instead.

I heard a heartbeat at home but movements feel less. What should I do?

Call your midwife or maternity unit now. A heartbeat doesn't mean your baby is well. Reduced movements always need a check.

Why did the heart rate change during my appointment?

It rises for a short while when the baby moves, and varies a little from beat to beat. That's expected.

When can a heartbeat be seen or heard?

On a scan from about 6 weeks. With a Doppler at appointments, usually from about 12 weeks.

Is my data saved?

The tool only asks for your week, and nothing is stored or sent.
