What is the chance my baby comes this week?
It depends on how far along you are. Of everyone still pregnant at 39 weeks, about 1 in 4 go into labor on their own within 7 days. At 40 weeks it's a little under half. Enter your due date to see your own figure and dates.
Why do my odds go up the longer I wait?
The tool only counts the days still ahead of you. As each week passes, fewer days are left before 42 weeks, so the chance that labor starts in the next few days rises.

What happens if I reach 41 or 42 weeks?
In many countries you're offered induction from 41 weeks, so your baby is born by 42 weeks (NICE NG207). If you choose to wait, you'll usually be offered extra checks on your baby. Past 42 weeks, call your maternity unit today if you don't have a plan yet.
How many babies are born on their due date?
Only about 4 in 100. Most babies arrive in the weeks around it.
Should I use this to decide about induction?
No. It shows chances for groups of pregnancies, not for you. Talk it through with your midwife or doctor, who knows your pregnancy.
When should I call my maternity unit instead of waiting?
Straight away for contractions before 37 weeks, waters breaking, bleeding, severe or constant pain, your baby moving less, or a severe headache, vision changes or fever.
