Is Bump Pulse really free? What’s included without paying?

Yes. The core contraction timer is free, with **no ads** and **no subscription**. You can time contractions, review your history and use the essentials without paying.

What is Birth Certificate Mode and what do I get with it?

**Birth Certificate Mode is optional** — a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It adds “nice-to-have” extras that make the experience richer and easier during/after labor, without locking you out of the basics. It unlocks things like unlimited contraction history, notes and intensity, partner live control, custom milestones and all birth certificate designs.

How does Partner Sync work? Do we need an account?

No account needed. You pair devices by scanning a **QR code** or opening an invite link. Your partner or doula follows along with live updates (View only by default), so everyone stays in sync.

Can both devices control the session?

By default, the second device is **View only** and follows the session. You can give your partner Full control so they can start, stop and edit contractions from their own phone. Following along live is free; Full control is part of Birth Certificate Mode.

Does it work offline?

Yes for tracking on one phone. The timer works on-device even without internet. **Partner Sync requires internet** to send live updates between devices.

What is “Session Check-In” and why would I use it?

Session Check-In is a quick, lightweight step that helps you keep your tracking clean and intentional. It’s useful when you start timing “just in case” and later want to confirm the session is real, reset it, or keep it for reference.

What is “Labor Mode”?

Labor Mode is a more focused experience for the moment you actually need it. It reduces distractions and keeps the most important actions (start/stop/resume, last contraction, interval) front and center.

What is Birth Certificate Mode?

Birth Certificate Mode is designed for after the birth. It helps you save and share the key details from your session in a clean, keepsake-style format.

Is my data safe?

Your contractions are stored on your device. Partner Sync uses secure cloud sync (Firebase/Firestore) to reliably mirror the session between devices. We don’t run ad tracking and we don’t sell personal data.

Is it iPhone-only?

No. Bump Pulse works on **iOS and Android**. On iOS (supported versions), you can also use **Live Activity** on the Lock Screen to keep the current contraction visible without constantly opening the app.
